Nicole Holler Named Assistant Principal at Windermere Boulevard Elementary

The Amherst Central School District Board of Education appointed Nicole Holler, a K-12 STEM coordinator with Orchard Park Central School District, as the Assistant Principal of Windermere Boulevard Elementary School. She began her new role on Monday, July 24, 2023. This appointment brings her back to an elementary school and school district she knows well since she attended Windermere Boulevard and is a 2004 graduate of Amherst Central High School.

While at Orchard Park CSD, she worked as a K-12 instructional technology coach and STEM coordinator. In those roles, she provided personal classroom-based coaching to support teachers and coordinated activities for students and teachers involved with the integration of technology. In collaborating with district leaders to implement a shared vision for STEM learning, she helped create the K-5 STEM Innovation Lab and introduced curriculum to support innovative learning opportunities such as coding, robotics and 3-D printing. She has coordinated, planned and delivered staff development for teachers and staff. She developed a comprehensive five-year technology plan and vision.

Throughout her career she has served in various teaching and leadership positions in the areas of special education, gifted education, academic intervention, instructional coaching and curriculum development.

She has presented at the NYS Association for Computers and Technology in Education conference and is a member of the Committee for Identifying and Developing Educational Leadership and the Erie 1 BOCES CSLO Technology Integrators Forum committee.

Prior to Orchard Park CSD, she was a middle school Project Lead the Way teacher and a K-8 literacy technology teacher at the Charter School for Applied Technologies. She also worked for the Iroquois Central School District as a K-8 academic intervention service teacher and as a substitute teacher.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in childhood inclusive education from SUNY Fredonia. She holds two master’s degrees from Canisius College, one in differentiated instruction and one in educational technology & emerging media. She received an educational leadership certificate of advanced study from SUNY Fredonia.
